Vistry lodges plans for 76 Oldham homes
A 6.5-acre site off Rosary Road has been earmarked for redevelopment into a 100% affordable scheme by the housebuilder.
Vistry’s latest project is located a short distance from the 365-home Hartshead View, another of the group’s developments.
Vistry is seeking full consent from Oldham Council for the Rosary Road scheme, located on a site that was removed from the Green Belt and allocated for redevelopment in the Places for Everyone joint spatial plan.
According to planning documents, Vistry is in talks with a registered provider about delivering the project as a 100% affordable development.
Plans suggest a mix of terraced, semi-detached, and detached houses providing two and three bedrooms.
AshtonHale is advising the developer on the proposals.

One of the – perhaps one of only two or three – small PfE sites in Oldham that SHOULD be able go ahead and happen within a reasonable time scale. Broadbent Moss and Beal Valley 1500 units site will need a mountain of groundwork engineering and potentially tipping infill to provide access into the site, Coal Pit Lane 175 units is on the site of the old mine heads and shafts and pond and again will need a great deal of preparatory work to clear and make safe and developable. Work has reportedly slowed or even stopped at 450 units Cowlishaw due to lack of sales, and ground conditions are reportedly not too good. No reports yet that anyone will put up the money for the 2000 high rise town centre flats that no-one is queueing up to live in either! If you want to appear to be making an effort but don’t really want anything to happen, Oldham’s development plans are the way to do it.
