VIDEO | Genr8 Kajima on the secrets to partnership success

From Knowsley to Newcastle and beyond, the joint venture is delivering regeneration projects in collaboration with the public sector to drive growth and address inequalities through development.

In conversation with Place North West senior report Dan Whelan at UKREiiF, Genr8 Developments partner Richard Ingham and Kajima Europe regeneration director Kate Pix discussed the secrets to the joint venture’s success in winning these opportunities.

“There has got to be a tenacity and a willingness to look long term,” Ingham said. “Once you have a track record in delivering regeneration and delivering challenging projects, winning the next one becomes an easier task.”

Genr8 Kajima Regeneration has won the first three jobs it has bid for since forming in 2021, including the regeneration of Huyton town centre.

This 100% success rate is down to the adoption of a considered approach to the opportunities available, according to Pix.

“We are quite selective about what we bid for,” she said. “We get under the skin of what a project could be. It is about understanding the community and the neighbourhood.”
