Tallest building outside London completes
Renaker Build has finished construction of the 67-storey South Tower at Deansgate Square. The first tenants are due to move in next month.
When South Tower topped out in November 2018, it became the tallest skyscraper outside of London at 201 metres high, and the fifth highest building in the UK overall.
The building is made up of 496 apartments which have been sold overseas or to owner-occupiers. The first tenants are due to start moving in during the first week of January, although the majority will take occupancy of the flats during February and March.
Sitting within Renaker’s wider Deansgate Square scheme, South Tower’s neighbouring buildings sit at 53, 47 and 40 storeys high, which in total will deliver 1,500 apartments.
All the towers have reached full height, with the North and East towers due for completion next year.
Deansgate Square was designed by SimpsonHaugh.
The scheme includes leisure facilities such as a tennis court, pool, cinema, gym, dance studio, beauty rooms, a rooftop garden, and public realm.
Nearby Beetham Tower completed in 2006 and is 158m tall, containing 47 storeys.
Bet you’d have a good view of the peaks from the top of that!
Looks fantastic too.

Been up to floor 58? in the hoist, great views from a great building. Seems strange that you can look at the roof top of Beetham Tower.

That whole area in the photo above will look amazing in 5 years if all the current projects go ahead. I will be a fine cluster butting up against the Mancunian Way

I worked on that job and yes the view at the top is immense and you get some great pictures especially of Manchester at night.
