Stonebond, Great Places bag consent for affordable Wigan homes
The developer and the registered provider have joined forces to build 106 properties on the former Enterprise House office building site off Seaman Way in Ince.
Stonebond Properties and Great Places Housing Group are working together on the scheme, which was approved by Wigan Council at a planning meeting yesterday. This decision was made in line with officer recommendations.
Designed by Urban Green, the project will see the delivery of 34 two-bedroom, 62 three-bedroom, and 10 four-bedroom houses on the now-vacant plot following the office building’s demolition last year.
All the properties would be available on affordable tenures; 53 for shared ownership and 53 for affordable rent.
Stonebond and Great Places submitted the plans for the development in May, before forming a formal partnership in June with the intention of redeveloping brownfield sites across Greater Manchester and Cheshire to deliver 600 affordable homes.
Lichfields is the planning consultant for the scheme. The project team also includes E3P, Croft, Robert E Fry & Associates, and Environment Agency.
