Stokoe joins Graphene as senior relationship director
Graphene Funding has recruited David Stokoe from Cynergy Bank, where he worked for nearly a decade.
Stokoe has been named senior relationship director at the Manchester-based company, which was formerly known as Graphene Commercial Finance.
In addition to his time at Cynergy Bank, he also worked at Nationwide Building Society. While at Cynergy, Stokoe specialised in providing facilities of up to £50m.
At Graphene Funding, he will work with co-founders Tom Bamber and Jack Poxon in supporting projects and deals with funding requirements of between £2m and £100m.
Graphene has helped finance the acquisition of Jackson House in Sale for £14.5m. This weekend, the firm completed on the refinancing of a student housing project for £47.5m.
These successes, and others, meant now was the perfect moment to grow, according to Bamber.
“Having launched Graphene two years ago, our bespoke and advice-led approach to funding has been well received by the market, with now being the right time to bolster our capacity with the addition of David,” he said.
Poxon added: “Bringing someone of David’s calibre into the business reflects our ambition to establish Graphene as Manchester’s key real estate debt advisory partner.”
For his part, Stokoe said was glad to join the company and to work with Bamber and Poxon.
“Their relationship-led approach and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients align closely with my own values,” Stokoe said.
“I look forward to helping clients navigate an increasingly challenging funding market, while playing a key role in supporting Graphene’s continued growth and ambition.”
