ServiceSource chooses The Plaza

ServiceSource International, an American technology company, has confirmed it will open its second European office in Bruntwood's The Plaza in Old Hall Street, Liverpool city centre.

As tipped on Place in June, three buildings in Liverpool had been short-listed to house the firm including the Corn Exchange, owned by private clients of Mason & Partners, and Silkhouse Court, owned by Commercial Estates Group.

ServiceSource, which already has an office in Dublin, carried out a search across Europe and said the reasons it chose Liverpool was due to its ongoing city centre development, business infrastructure, and choice of multi-lingual graduates.

The privately-owned company, which was founded in San Francisco in 1999 and employs 1,300 people worldwide, is focused on partnering with technology, healthcare and life sciences clients, to drive up service revenue and customer satisfaction from maintenance, support and subscription contracts.

The North West Development Agency and The Mersey Partnership have been working closely with ServiceSource to secure inward investment for the Liverpool city region since June 2008, with the investment, worth circa £35m, confirmed in May this year.

Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the NWDA, said: "As a high growth company, ServiceSource will make a vital contribution to the local and regional economy, creating 258 new graduate jobs, helping to ensure that the city retains and attracts young talent.

"The Agency, TMP, and the NWDA team in the USA have been working hard to secure this important investment and we will continue to work closely with the company to support their move to the region."

Lorraine Rogers, chief executive of The Mersey Partnership, added: "Service Source is the global leader in service technologies for high-tech and healthcare client companies. TMP will continue to work closely with ServiceSource to support its future plans."

Crosbie Burns, executive vice president and managing director of ServiceSource in Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "The rapidly evolving global market, as well as Liverpool's proximity to our European customer base, made it a great choice for our operational expansion. The Liverpool service centre will help us to expand our footprint in the UK and pan-European markets, while leveraging a rich and energetic workforce and allowing us to maintain the performance oriented, collaborative company culture that ServiceSource is known for."

ServiceSource has over eighty clients worldwide including Adobe, Alcatel-Lucent, GE Healthcare, Hitachi Data Systems, Pitney Bowes and Tandberg.

ServiceSource is moving into a 12,000 sq ft office at The Plaza. Details of the rental agreement were not disclosed.

Joint agents on The Plaza are DTZ, CB Richard Ellis and Matthews & Goodman.
