Cegedim takes 11,000 sq ft at Orbit’s Buckshaw Parkway

The French healthcare company is the inaugural tenant for the first of the developer’s five three-storey office blocks being built near the station at Chorley’s large mixed-use development.

OBI were the agents in the deal which sees Cegedim leasing the whole of the top floor and part of the ground floor, measuring 11,281 sq ft.

This leaves 11,730 sq ft left and Orbit says it has ‘significant interest’ from two other companies for that remaining space.

Work is now starting on the second 33,917 sq ft building, with construction being carried out by Jones Contracts.

Orbit Development’s managing director Tony Jones said: “Just as the building is completed, the arrival of Cegedim to Buckshaw Parkway marks a significant milestone.

“We’re delighted to welcome such a forward-thinking international business.  I’m sure this will act as a catalyst for further innovative companies to choose Buckshaw Parkway.

“Work has already commenced on the second building.  We look forward to the continuing success of the development.”

Tristan De Foucher, managing director of European operations at Cegedim, added: “The strategic location, excellent connectivity, and the progressive development approach align perfectly with our company requirements.

“The move to Chorley also matches our willingness to offer a modern workplace that our colleagues will be proud of and happy to work from. We look forward to contributing to the local community and building a successful future in Chorley.”
