Seddon starts on £4m Bolton College extension
Work has started on a £4m expansion of Bolton Sixth Form College’s town centre campus, designed by 10 Architects.
The extension, including study areas, offices, and teaching space, will allow the college to expand its capacity by a further 230 students.
Internal works to existing buildings have already begun with the new-build element of the project to begin at the end of August. A second phase of alterations to connect the new-build to the existing college will be completed next summer.
The scheme is the second Bolton-based contractor Seddon has secured at the college; in 2013, the company built an extension of its student refectory.
Ed Wootton, regional director at Seddon said: “This extension will provide an already excellent college with much-needed facilities that will enrich the lives of both students and staff.
“With room for another 230 students, we’re excited to deliver a project which will make a real difference to the learning experience of young people in Bolton.”
The professional team also includes structural engineer WML Consulting and Waterman Group providing M&E services.
