S I Sealy appoints senior leadership team
Matthew Pickford has joined Daniel Madden as company director at the Stockport-based decarbonising and building services design specialist and will drive the consultancy’s future alongside Saeed Amirahmadi, Adrian Bill, Ben Rathbone, Mike Robinson, and Ged Williams.
The newly created S I Sealy senior leadership team’s appointment comes a year after Madden acquired shares of former director David Stafford, becoming the firm’s sole owner.
“During the last year we have secured our position as one of the leading decarbonisation and building services design consultancies, providing high quality advice, designs and service to our clients,” Madden said.
“Our strategy is now about securing sustainable growth.”
The leadership team will focus on the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as retaining and growing its client base. It will also focus on ways to optimise productivity, including embracing artificial intelligence.
Alongside the appointment to the senior leadership team, Amirahmadi, Bill, Rathbone, Robinson, and Williams have all been promoted to associate director.
This in line with S I Sealys company goals, according to Madden
“Since our formation in 1949, we have focused on nurturing and developing our own talent,” he said.
“To be able to appoint a senior leadership team with the right skills from within our business, is a testament to this approach.”
Pickford will join Madden as the most senior members of the S I Sealy leadership team. He has been a technical director at the firm since 2019, having worked his way up in the business since joining in 2001.
Madden shared why Pickford was a great choice for the company director position, noting that they have worked together for 22 years.
“I am really pleased that he has joined me as a company director, to help steer the business to deliver real growth from our current core sectors such as healthcare and education where we are market leaders, and secure additional growth from other sectors such as commercial, leisure, industrial, residential, data centres and digital-led services such as digital twins,” Madden said.
Recent projects for S I Sealy include the £14.5m Stockroom, the £8.3m Bacup Market, and the £500m redevelopment of North Manchester General Hospital’s estate.

@Anonymous 12:47 Should companies employ the best person for the job or somebody less suited to the task that has some characteristic other than ability that could be taken into consideration?
I have employed people of every colour, sexual orientation, religious faith (including Jedi) and footballing preference imaginable over the years. The common denominator was that they were the best person in that particular interview round. That’s all that matters. Perhaps these folk were the best available, too?
