MBO agreed at SI Sealy as Stafford heads for retirement
Daniel Madden, a director of the building consultancy since 2016, is now the firm’s sole director having bought David Stafford’s shares in a management buyout.
SI Sealy said that the deal ensures that the company remains independent, guaranteeing long term security and a clear plan for growth.
Madden now owns 100% of SI Sealy & Associates Ltd, with Stafford standing down as a director of the business to become a specialist advisor. He had led the MBO of the business from Chris Sealy in 1999.
Lining up official retirement in April 2026, for the next 12 months, Stafford will work with Madden on finessing and implementing a long-term plan for growth, while transitioning key projects and business activities asc Stafford’s duties are gradually reduced.
One outcome of this focus will be the creation of a strong management support team around Madden, the firm said.
Madden said: “Staying independent, focussed, and strong will remain our strategy for the foreseeable future as we continue to work across all sectors. Key sectors like healthcare and education where we have achieved market leadership will, of course, remain important as we attract new commercial, industrial, leisure, and residential projects.
“Remaining efficient and competitive in how we deliver building services design solutions which are ahead of the curve, will keep us profitable, sustainable and people focussed. Our plans for growth give our fantastic team an opportunity to capitalise on our success as we continue to serve our loyal client base.
“David’s contribution has been instrumental in developing the company into what it is today, and I’d like to thank and congratulate him on his 40 years of dedication to the company. His guidance to the team and me personally, especially as we’ve planned his exit over the last few years, has been and continues to be incredible.”
