Pro Manchester creates property group
Pro Manchester has set up a property and regeneration steering group chaired by Pannone partner Stephen Chalcraft, and containing GVA's Mark Rawstron, the airport's John Atkins and Michael Wilton from Arup, among others.
The sector group was established to support "the ambitious and deliverable vision of Manchester City Council to further develop Manchester as a leading city of national and international significance; where people choose to live, and in which companies want to invest."
The group intends to:
- Support understanding of funding streams from domestic and European sources
- Illustrate how private and public sector can work together
- Promoting council's property and regeneration opportunities
- Help business community react to opportunities and share work
- Developing bespoke events and projects that can stimulate debate about future of Manchester economy
The group's inaugural event is due to take place on Tuesday 3 Decembr at City Tower in Piccadilly. Details can be found here
Stephen Chalcraft, chairman of the group, said: "The group is passionate not only for Manchester's success but also for the success of whole of the North West. Our highly committed and experienced board has a diverse range of talents at a senior level that I feel will work well with the exceptional leaders of Manchester – together the public and private sector can achieve a lot for the business community."
Cllr Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, said: "This inaugural event will explain how important each individual infrastructure project is to Manchester's success and to its profile on the international stage and will start off this sector board communicating with the business community about the key role of Property & regeneration in Greater Manchester"
