Portsmouth wins consent for Warrington shed
A 98,000 sq ft unit can be built on a former Mercedes-Benz truck and van dealership in Birchwood, following approval.
AEW is the project architect, working with Hive Land & Planning. Eddisons, Cundall, Hydrock, Hannan Associates, Stephen Hunt & Associates, TEP, Pick Everard and CCS Consulting are also on Portsmouth City Council’s professional team.
The application is for the Enza Building on Leacroft Road, formerly known as the Mercedez Benz-Roanza truck and van dealership, as identified in Hive’s covering letter.
As set out in the officer report, the 4.71-acre application site is vacant industrial land located on the outer edge of Birchwood Park, sandwiched between the M62 and Leacroft Road.
The site is described as comprising predominantly hardstanding, with some buildings on site having recently been demolished. A row of trees and shrubs line the boundary to either side, with a small grassed bund to the front.
There were no objections from statutory consultees.
