PlaceFirst builds team as activity ramps up
Build-to-rent developer PlaceFirst has announced 12 new hires as it seeks to build on the £25m fundraising with ESO Capital completed in May.
Earlier this year, the business established PlaceFirst Construction, giving it in-house construction capability where it has previously used external contractors. Seven of the new starters will work within this arm of the business.
The new arrivals include project manager David Lynch, who arrives from Gerald Eve, and financial controller Richard Godsland.
PlaceFirst has delivered more than 120 homes across the North West, and has a committed pipeline of more than 450 homes across the North of England. It is currently on site with two developments, including the Welsh Streets in Liverpool, which will include 250 homes.
In early 2017, PlaceFirst is looking to start work on two developments in Morecambe following the completion of the West End One development in September. West End Two involves the conversion of 22 former guesthouses into 48 homes, while the Bold Street scheme will see townhouses delivered in the Lancashire town.
David Smith-Milne, managing director, said: “PlaceFirst is rapidly becoming a much larger business with some really great ideas. The team are all highly energised about forming part of a new kind of development business, that puts the needs of families trapped in a housing market that has failed them for far too long, at the very core of all that it does.”
Call that a smile DL?

As a resident of Devonshire Road, we overlook the regeneration going on in the Welsh streets and are delighted at what is happening.I hope the waste land bordering South Street can be turned into attractive green space or allotment.
