PC Harrington Contractors enters administration
Specialist concrete contractor PC Harrington, which operates a small Runcorn office, has entered administration after experiencing financial difficulty and ceasing trading.
Howard Smith and Jonny Marston of KPMG's restructuring practice were appointed joint administrators to PC Harrington Contractors Ltd on Tuesday 5 May 2015.
According to a statement from KPMG, the company had experienced difficult trading conditions since the economic downturn and suffered from a number of loss making contracts.
PC Harrington Contractors Ltd is one of many companies operating within the PC Harrington Group. The staff who worked on projects for PC Harrington Contractors were employed by a management services company, so according to KPMG the entity that has gone into administration does not have any direct employees.
PC Harrington Contractors also owns the shares of one of the group's subsidiaries, Slipform International Ltd, which is outside of the insolvency process and continuing to trade under the control of its existing management, as are the other companies in the PC Harrington Group.
The administrators will concentrate their efforts on realising value for the company's assets, which are primarily contract debts.
Previous projects in the North West included supplying the concrete frame for the 350,000 sq ft One Angel Square at NOMA in Manchester, and work on a range of residential developments around the Green Quarter.
