Origin Planning Services appoints director

Mike Stone has joined the town planning practice from his former position as land director at Gladman, where he worked from September.

Stone is land and planning director of Origin Planning Service’s first North West office, based in Warrington’s Birchwood Park. 

Stone is an experienced land and planning professional, with 20 years of experience in the industry. 

His previous roles include senior land manager at Wain Homes in 2022 and strategic land director at Bellway Homes, where he worked for five years.

Speaking about his new role, Stone said: “Origin differs from other companies in that we are a one-stop shop with full-service offerings across land and planning from getting that golden planning ticket through to introducing and disposing of sites, and working alongside some excellent consultants.”

Stone joins planning consultant Elliott Bennett in Origin’s North West base, the company’s second office.

The rest of Origin’s team of five is based in Teesside. 

Commenting on Stone’s appointment, owner Stephen Litherland said: “Clients can rest assured that they are in safe hands with Mike. 

“His experience, expertise, and results speak for themselves, and I know he will be an important part of our future and play a big part in our plans for expansion and development.”

Launched in 2019, Origin’s clients include housebuilders Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes, Bellway Homes, Gleeson, and Miller Homes.

The company plans to expand across Yorkshire in the future.
