Orbit signs two for Cheshire/South Manchester offices
Orbit Developments has reported a series of office lettings in Altrincham and Macclesfield totalling in excess of 22,000 sq ft.
At Charter House, in Altrincham town centre, engineering and management consultant Mott MacDonald has acquired the whole of the 5,626 sq ft first floor and 4,306 sq ft on the second floor. The company has signed a five-year lease with Orbit at a rental of £15.95/sq ft.
Rhys Owen, leasing and marketing surveyor at Orbit Developments, said: "Charter House is now fully let once again and we continue to see strong levels of interest in our other properties along the A56 corridor. There is still strong demand for high quality office space outside of Manchester itself as this deal proves."
At Tytherington Business Park, Macclesfield, Bodycote has acquired 13,430 sq ft at Orbit's Springwood Court on a 15-year lease for an undisclosed sum. Bodycote has outgrown its existing headquarters at Hulley Road in Macclesfield.
Paul McLeman, leasing director of Orbit Developments, said: "The market in Cheshire has grown considerably over the last few years which has led to an increased interest in Macclesfield. This new deal reflects the success to date of Tytherington Business Park. Its location, close to the M6, Manchester and Stoke has proven to be incredibly popular with companies of all sizes and our ongoing development programme now includes a further building of 16,000 sq ft which is available in June 08."
