Wythenshawe landlord plans new homes

Manchester housing association Parkway Green has submitted plans for 68 homes in Wythenshawe.

Parkway wants to build 44 two-storey houses, eight bungalows and 16 flats in two three-storey blocks on land previously occupied by 50 concrete 'Orlit' houses off Tuffley Road which were demolished in 2010. Parkway Green New Foxfield

It said funding for the "New Foxfield" development has been secured from the government's affordable housing programme. Construction should start in March.

In a statement Parkway Green's chief executive Nigel Wilson said: "This development will provide more affordable social housing in Wythenshawe and help to improve the area. We want to leave a lasting legacy in our communities and this is our biggest new build project to date."
