Wincanton signs for 150,000 sq ft at Bury Point
Wincanton Logistics has agreed a five-year lease on a 150,000 sq ft warehouse at Pin Property's Bury Point industrial park in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.
Wincanton, which is paying £3.75 a sq/ft, plans to create 100 new jobs by using the warehouse as a chilled food store facility to service a new contract with the Morrison's supermarket chain.
Joint letting agents Davies Harrison and Jones Lang LaSalle acted on behalf of Pin Property, which recently undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the property.
Savills represented Wincanton.
The self-contained warehouse facility is situated on a nine acre site close to three motorway junctions – junctions two and three of the M66 and junction 17 of the M60.
Pin marketing director Imran Younus said: "This is a win win situation all round. We are delighted to have Wincanton and Morrisons join our list of blue chip tenants. The new jobs created will also mean a major boost to the local economy in these current economic conditions."
Rick Davies of Davies Harrison said: "This was a good deal for both parties and underpins the continued demand for larger industrial units in the North West.
"We had a lot of interest in this property, which serves to reinforce the rapidly decreasing supply of existing products that can cope with the latent demand."
