Walker Sime relocates to Princes Dock

Quantity surveying and project management company Walker Sime has signed a five-year lease on 3,500 sq ft at No8 Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters.

The consultancy firm, which also has offices in Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow, will be moving from its current Liverpool address at Cotton Exchange on Bixteth Street this month.

The organisation has committed to a five-year lease on the first floor of No8. No8 is 56,000 sq ft and is fully let.

Walker Sime’s move to Liverpool Waters is part of the consultancy firm’s longstanding work with developer and landlord Peel Land & Property. As cost consultants and project managers for Liverpool Waters, Walker Sime has been tasked with ensuring the redevelopment of over 160 acres of Liverpool’s waterfront is delivered on time and on budget.

Derek Walker, director at Walker Sime, said: “The Liverpool Waters project is an incredibly exciting one and working with Peel as closely as we have been is a fantastic experience. It therefore makes sense that we would want to make our mark on the area and take on this lease. We’re proud to say that we’ve had a role in the many changes happening on Liverpool’s waterfront, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the next stages of the project will look.”

Tenants at No8 include KPMG and Savills.

Kind of makes sense for the beautiful buildings in the business district to be made use of as homes, while businesses move out to more modern premises. Hope investment into Liverpool continues at no more than a moderate pace though – don’t want too many more Manch-esque steel and glass shockers.
