Two hires at Gillespies
Landscape and urban design consultancy Gillespies has added two staff to its office in Hale, Greater Manchester, including Jordan Baldock from Troy Planning and Design, and graduate Lauren Bennett.
Baldock has joined to focus on the delivery of St Cuthbert’s Garden Village near Carlisle, which will deliver 10,000 new homes in the area, while Bennett joins as a recent graduate from Sheffield University, having previously gained experience at landscape consultancy FPCR. She will primarily work on landscape and design assessment for HS2.
Bennett joined in August, while Baldock joined this month.
As well as the Garden Village, projects Gillespies is working on include Logik Developments’ Arundel Street tower, where it is acting as landscape architect. Gillespies is also landscape architect for Balfour Beatty and AIG Global Real Estate’s £65m New Cross private-rented project, which includes 274 apartments off Manchester’s Oldham Road.
Other hires for the company this year include Chris Wong, an urban designer who joined the company from Studio Egret West in April.
Jim Gibson, who leads the Manchester office, said: “Jordan and Lauren join us at an important time for the company as we emerge from the summer months and build our workload into the winter and New Year with new work streams and a strong order book.
