Splash hires restaurant designer for Salford Quays office

Urban Splash and Pears have confirmed the appointment of Liverpool-based interior designer R2 Architecture to carry out the refurbishment of Office Village, the recently acquired 46,000 sq ft building next to Exchange Quay.

The block was acquired from Columbia Threadneedle for £4m earlier this month.

Urban Splash plans to deliver “reinvented office space” in the building, which is currently 50% vacant.

R2 is best known for a range of restaurant interiors around Liverpool, including Mowgli Street Food, Tribeca Bar & Pizzeria, and Leaf on Bold Street.

Richard Eastwood, director at R2 Architecture, said: “We are really excited about taking this development forward and advising Urban Splash on our recommended updates to the scheme which will bring it in line with the rest of its award-winning portfolio.

“Urban Splash has a broad design mind and we’re fortunate to have worked with them on previous North West developments; that collaborative past experience will help us create an exceptional finished product.”
