Sourced snaps up £100m Liverpool scheme

The Widnes-based developer has acquired a site on Scotland Road with consent for 612 apartments from Greg Malouf’s Bevington Developments.

Newry Construction has started work on the £100m Liverpool project, known as Westminster Park, and the first phase is due to complete in January 2023.

The development, designed by Falconer Chester Hall, will comprise a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments across three blocks of nine to 17 storeys.

A vision for the site was first proposed in 2016. Bevington Developments, headed up by Romal Capital chief executive Malouf, won consent for more than 1,000 student flats.

However, the following year the plans were reworked, and the student flats were ditched in favour of traditional apartments.

Sourced completed the acquisition of the site in February.

“I am delighted to announce the acquisition of Westminster Park,” said Joanne Waller, managing director of Sourced Development.

“We thank Liverpool City Council along with our professional team in bringing this exciting new site to life. With a bold design and modern architecture, this site will further beautifully enhance the entrance to the city of Liverpool.”

Westminster Park forms a key part of Sourced’s plans to deliver 1,600 homes across the North West over the next three years.

The company’s other projects include the 392-home Kingsway Square in Liverpool and the 525-apartment Regent Plaza.

Scotland Road to be accurate, anyway Newry appear to be on site so let`s hope things progress, meanwhile the Kingsway Square scheme has been publicised for some years now but don`t think it`s on site.
Regent Plaza in Manchester is progressing, while the scheme on West Derby Road in Liverpool is also well underway.

My God what a horrible design. Disgraceful.

Some signs of renewed interest in the Leeds Street/Scotland Road area. Expanding the City Centre even further. Hopefully a sign of new confidence in Liverpool.

Awful location and recession on the way.

I hope that the events in Ukraine will see the residential property sector use due diligence when selling property to overseas investors as ‘safety deposit’ investments.
