Seddon lands hotel pre-let

Travelodge has signed a 25-year lease with Seddon Developments for a new purpose built hotel in Bolton town centre.

The 80-bed hotel will be built on River Street in Merchant's Quarter by sister company Seddon Construction, which has already started on site and is due for completion in late autumn 2011.

Jamie Seddon of Seddon Developments: "The arrival of Travelodge further enhances Bolton's reputation as one of the North West's popular destinations for both business and social travellers."

The hotel is a key part of Bolton Council's masterplan for this area, which aims to redevelop it into a commercial quarter.

Cllr Ismail Ibrahim, Bolton Council's executive member for development and regeneration, said: "It's fantastic to see private sector investment coming into the town and creating jobs for local people. The arrival of Travelodge will significantly regenerate this area of Bolton and it is ideally placed to attract visitors to the town."

Manchester-based agent Jenics acts for Travelodge in the North West.
