Rail supplier moves to Crewe Hall Farm

The Duchy of Lancaster, one of the Queen's property and land estates, has signed a new tenant at the Crewe Hall Farm office conversion.

Nacco UK, an independent rail freight wagon-leasing company, signed a five-year lease for 1,200 sq ft after choosing to relocate from Manchester city centre.

Andrew Cox, general manager at Nacco UK, said: "Crewe Hall Farm is an ideal base for us as it places Nacco within the heart of the UK rail freight industry. It offers excellent transport links, as well as being significantly cost-competitive compared to office space in the city centre. The offices have been refurbished to such a high standard that it makes coming into work an absolute pleasure."

Nick Dart, surveyor of lands for The Duchy of Lancaster, added: "Crewe Hall Farm offers flexible, high specification accommodation that provides stiff competition for city centre offices. The development raises the bar in terms of available boutique office space in the North West, attracting companies of all sizes and from a variety of locations."

The 27,500 sq ft development was completed by the Duchy in a joint venture with Maple Grove. The farm is three miles from Junction 16 of the M6. The buildings incorporate many original architectural features, such as stone staircases, exposed timber beams and brickwork, grain hoists and false window openings.

Lamonts Commercial and Knight Frank are the agents for the scheme. Quoting rents vary between £10/sq ft and £16/sq ft.
