Pugh details next auction

Pugh & Co's sale on 18 October will contain a former quarry in Bolton, an old police station and a mill among the catalogue.

Nineteen acres at Cox Green Quarry in Cox Green Road, Egerton, Bolton, are guided at £80,000.

A former police station on Beetham Road, Milnthorpe will be offered at between £90,000 and £110,000.

An empty detached bungalow with a swimming pool in Burnley Road, Bacup will be up for sale at between £250,000 and £275,000.

Paul Thompson, director and auctioneer at Pugh & Co, said: "We are looking forward to our October auctions as we have received numerous instructions from local authorities, corporate clients, banks and receivers. The catalogue is already generating lots of enquiries and offers, so it promises to be another successful result.

"One of the lots already receiving high levels of interest is Portland Mill on Brook Street East, Ashton Under Lyne. This five storey mill offers a big investment opportunity and will be put to auction guided between £425,000 and £475,000."

To date, Pugh has raised £59.2m across its four city auction venues this year, with an average sale rate of 72%. As well as Manchester, Pugh holds auctions in Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle.

The next Manchester auction will take place at Manchester United FC at noon on Thursday 18 October.
