Pugh & Co auction raises £5.1m

Pugh & Co raised just over £5.1m at its latest property auction held at Manchester United FC's Old Trafford football stadium.

A total of 114 lots were being sold at the auction on Thursday afternoon with 71 lots available for commercial use and 43 lots available for residential purposes.

Pugh & Co achieved 60% sales within the commercial auction with 42 lots selling for a combined £3,238,350.

Essential Information Group, a company which stores Pugh & Co's auction figures, said the auctioneer achieved 62% of residential sales with 27 of the 43 lots selling for a combined £1,909,000.

Pugh & Co did not have as much success on the larger lots available with a former school on two acres in Rochdale still available at a guide price of £800,000.

However, a vacant two storey pub situated on Oxford Square in Blackpool did sell at its guide price of £120,000. The property had an original guide price of over £170,000 but Pugh & Co changed it a few days before Thursday's auction.
