Prologis brings Optima Logistics to Middlewich

The industrial developer has signed a 10-year lease agreement with Optima Logistics for DC1 Prologis Middlewich, a 185,396 sq ft distribution centre at Middlewich in Cheshire.

Optima Logistics will relocate from Central Park Estate in Trafford Park having outgrown its premises due to major contract wins. Optima Logistics is a freight management and logistics services company that operates across the UK and Europe.

Kevin Williams, managing director of Optima Logistics, said: "It is in an ideal location for many of our clients and it represents a significant investment in the ongoing success of our business."

Within two miles of Junction 18 of the M6, the facility is at the heart of the region's road and rail networks and within easy reach of both Manchester and Liverpool airports. The quoting rent was £4.75/sq ft.

"Optima Logistics needed a distribution centre in the North West that is immediately ready to occupy," said Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK. "We aim to offer our customers the best opportunities in the market and we are delighted that we were able to meet the company's requirements at Middlewich."

Lamonts and Savills acted for Prologis.
