Plans in for Wallasey retirement flats

Anwyl Partnerships has revealed plans for its latest retirement living development off Greenheys Road in Wallasey.

Anwyl is partnering with a local housing association to deliver the scheme, which will include 53 affordable apartments, set within landscaped grounds and private gardens.

A planning application has been submitted to Wirral Council.

Sam Oliver, senior land manager at Anwyl Partnerships, said: “It’s great to be involved in the redevelopment of a prominent brownfield site so close to the heart of Wallasey, where the former and vacant NHS care home buildings will make way for 53 affordable modern fit for purpose retirement living apartments.

“There is a clear identified need for this type of accommodation in Wallasey and once constructed it will free up existing affordable family housing stock as new residents move in from the local area. All of the apartments will be affordable and prioritised for local people and be delivered in conjunction with our housing association partner.

“This development forms part of the company’s wider strategic direction and commitment in delivering land led partnership projects with our housing association partners in England and Wales. We continue to work with the Council to deliver an exception scheme and plan to be on site summer 2020’’.

The architect is John McCall.

Anwyl Partnerships is already on site at Pensby, Wirral where a 21-apartment extra care project is being developed for Magenta Living.  This scheme is due for completion in early 2020.

Yes I’m looking forward to not being able to go out into my back yard without 3 floors of people over looking us.

this is good for Wallasey I live in this type of property and was happy that my old house was bought by a family thats what we need to do so that families can have homes.

K Hollis they are not family homes, it’s basically sheltered accommodation. They are destroying a lot of trees, the entrance is right by the allotment pathway. This is adding extra danger for the kids, council don’t care, we had a petition and they ignored it.

Gemma, spoken like a true nimby…
Developers build big posh houses – people complain, they build on greenfield sites – they complain, build affordable properties on brownfield sites – people still complain!

Lorraine: the calibre and integrity of your opinion is significantly undermined by your in-ability to spell! Gemma: you couldn’t even have a throw-away barbe in that backyard! K Hollis: spoke like a true champion, but don’t vote labour today if you want to see more of this! Gemma: people would probably listen if you had a valid opinion….If its sheltered accommodation, what does that imply, these new fokes won’t go out much or have many cars. Save the ink in your printer! Deja: I’d take you out for a 3 course sushi platter!
