Peel still linked to ITV at Media City
ITV has reportedly said a potential move of its Manchester operations to Media City in Salford remains alive.
It follows news this week the broadcaster had written off £17m in the value of its studio facilities in central Manchester and Bedford.
The broadcaster posted losses of £2.7bn yesterday and announced 600 job cuts.
In an announcement made on the London Stock Exchange, ITV chairman Michael Grade said the company had recognised an "impairment" in relation to the two property assets and would no longer classify them as "assets held for sale".
However, ITV has signalled a move to Peel Holdings' Media City is still on the agenda, meaning its Manchester production facilities will relocate to the site in Salford near to the new BBC studios.
ITV opted to close its main studio facilities in Leeds, although the production of regional news and soap Emmerdale will remain in the city.
