Peel given go-ahead for Trafford Centre hotel

Planning has been granted for Peel to build its new 210-bed hotel at the Trafford Centre, Manchester.

The £30m development is expected to be the tallest building within the Trafford Centre complex at 200 feet.

It is expected to create over 100 jobs and will include a 500-seat banqueting/conference facility, meeting rooms, a 200-seat restaurant and bar area, spa, gym and swimming pool facility for guests, and a penthouse suite offering views of south Manchester and the Peak District.

Peter de la Perrelle, Peel's leisure director, said: "We are extremely pleased with this result. The hotel will be the first four-star hotel at The Trafford Centre and will add a quality facility for the benefit of not only the Centre itself but for its neighbouring communities."

Peel is now in detailed discussions with various contractors to take the development forward.
