Octopus opens in Manchester

Octopus Real Estate has opened its first regional office outside London, taking space in Manchester’s Spinningfields.

The firm has taken up a self-contained unit at three Hardman Square with plans for further expansion in the near future.

Currently the Manchester team consists of five members of staff including Chris Timms, head of sales for the North; Suparn Sapatnekar, a credit manager who has transferred from the London office; Chris Danks, case manager; Steven Bowes, internal business development manager; and Michael Mather, internal business development manager.

Octopus plans to continue to grow its team into the double figures for 2020.

According to the firm, Octopus consciously hired from the area to build its “experience in the Northern market and region.”

Timms said: “Having worked closely with our loyal broker network in the North for several years we have listened to what they want from a lender. We have responded by opening an office in Manchester to fully support them. This has been something we have wanted to do for several years and it’s exciting that our doors are now officially open.

“Both the commercial and residential property markets are moving quickly in the North, and opportunities continue to arise making investment an attractive choice.”
