Now is a ‘good time to focus on future’ says Breck director
Andy Garnett, former co-founder and director of MCI Developments, has launched Breck, a property development venture based in Blackpool and is actively seeking investment and development opportunities across the North West in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a LinkedIn post Garnett said: “Despite the current pandemic outbreak this is a good time to focus on the future, keeping the mind sharp, fit and healthy. It is very much business as usual for us.”
Breck’s upcoming projects include a scheme of 55 affordable homes at Claughton-on-Brock in Lancashire and eight luxury apartments in Bramhall near Stockport which are both in for planning; since April 2019, Breck has acquired property investments in excess of £10m.
The Breck brand is the latest incarnation of a company run by Garnett and MCI co-founders Michael King and Gary Humphries, which has previously been known as Breck Developments, Beecham Developments and MCI Projects.
Based at Blackpool Technology Park the company is split into three divisions:
- Breck Investments, which focuses on commercial property investment opportunities
- Breck Developments, which concentrates on strategic land opportunities and special projects
- Breck Homes which specialises in the construction of affordable properties for registered providers
Garnett co-founded MCI Developments in 2011 before the company was sold to Keepmoat for an undisclosed sum in 2017. He stayed on as director under the new ownership until April 2019.
Garnett said: “Since leaving MCI last year, I’ve been looking for a new challenge. With Breck, the focus will be on select property investment and development opportunities, as well bringing forward major regeneration projects in the affordable housing arena. We have been very busy already.”
