Murphy Hodgkinson appoints Cobbetts’ Brooks

Liverpool law firm Murphy Hodgkinson has appointed Legal 500 rated lawyer Karen Brooks from Cobbetts' Manchester office.

Brooks has a track record of dealing with Taylor Wimpey, Countryside Properties and Bloor Homes.

Karen Murphy, founder of Murphy Hodgkinson, said: "Although the housing market has been hit hard, we want to strengthen our business now and build for the future. The fact remains that the UK is suffering from a massive shortage of decent housing and the demand for that housing has not gone away. As borrowing eases and employment levels stabilise, we expect the market to improve."

Speaking about her appointment, Brooks added: "I am hugely impressed by Murphy Hodgkinson. The firm already acts for major developers such as Redrow, Bellway and Barratt Homes and we are looking to build on these very solid foundations."

Murphy Hodgkinson has also appointed a second new partner, Nina Chesworth, from within its ranks. Chesworth was previously an associate at the firm.
