More industrial lettings signed at Deeside

Almost 60,000 sq ft has been let to various occupiers at Zone 2 on Deeside Industrial Estate in North Wales, following its latest phase of refurbishment.

The Temporary Kitchen Company has leased the 12,178 sq ft Unit 37 to help deliver the caterer’s contract with the NHS, while utilities contractor MJ Quinn Integrated Services has taken Unit 3 comprising 20,050 sq ft.

Bevie.co, a homebrew craft beer, wine and fermented food manufacturer, has taken 26,540 sq ft on Unit 19, as it expands its warehouse accommodation to grow its main facility in Ellesmere Port.

The 105-acre Zone 2 sits off the A550 within fund manager Columbia Threadneedle’s Deeside Industrial Park, two miles from the end of the M56. The Zone 2 plot provides around 850,000 sq ft of industrial, manufacturing and warehouse space.

Planning consent has been awarded to build 102,967 sq ft across two new buildings at the plot. Further phases of refurbishment are planned to provide accommodation units of 5,700 sq ft, 10,000 sq ft and 27,000 sq ft respectively, following a £1.5m refurbishment of the most recently leased units, which completed last year.

Legat Owen and B8 Real Estate are joint letting agents at Zone 2. Last October, they let four units at the zone, including 26,300 sq ft to logistics firm DPD on a 10-year lease.

Mark Diaper, associate director at Legat Owen, commented: “We are identifying a new wave of requirements from firms who are performing well in these market conditions. [The landowner] is continually investing in the site, not least with the purchase of dedicated electric security vehicles for the site, and that has proven to be an attractive proposition for businesses looking to grow.

“With planning secured for 102,967 sq ft of new space, there are both design and build properties as well as oven ready space for businesses to move into.” Units are available on a leasehold basis, he added.

Deeside Industrial Park is situated within a Tier II Grant Assisted Area. Other tenants include Toyota, Convatec, Iceland, Magellan Aerospace and Tata Steel, among others.
