Mersey Gateway spurs on Runcorn industrial refurbishment

FI Real Estate Management has started a refurbishment programme at Manor Park Industrial Estate, near to the Mersey Gateway in Runcorn and home to occupiers including Warburtons and KRSS.

FIREM is spending £350,000 on replacing roofs at three of the larger units, which the currently-vacant units one and two will both also be fully stripped out and restored. This work is in addition to the recently-completed refurbishment of three properties – 10 Beeston Court, 12-15 Beeston Court, and 10 Boleyn Court – at the industrial estate.

Liverpool-based contractor Comm Commercial will be carrying out the refurbishment works for the developer and property management company.

Tenants at the estate include LCA Controls; Syntor Fine Chemicals; Rinnai; The Protein Works; KRSS; Sandon Global; and Warburtons, with B8 Real Estate as retained agent.

A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management said: “Manor Park has long been one of the most desirable warehouse locations in the North West, continuing to attract occupiers in a crowded market, and this has only increased following the opening of the Mersey Gateway bridge.

“Our refurbishment programme reflects our commitment to continually improving the facilities at Manor Park and offering exceptional facilities to businesses across the region. We anticipate significant interest in the refurbished units, and look forward to working with our agents to identify prospective tenants in the coming months.”

Earlier this summer, Halton Council launched a masterplan to create an additional 1m sq ft of commercial space at the nearby Astmoor Industrial Estate with the aim of creating 2,000 jobs.
