Mercer to move to St Paul’s Square

Global insurance broker and risk management consultant Mercer has agreed a 10-year lease with English Cities Fund to move to No 4 St Paul's Square in Liverpool's business district, where it will occupy 22,395 sq ft on the fourth and third floors.

Mercer is currently based nearby in Exchange Station, owned by the Homes & Communities Agency. ECf said the letting is the largest in Liverpool this year.

The insurer has agreed a lease for the whole of the fourth floor and half of the third floor at No 4 St Paul's Square, joining GVA, Santander Corporate and CBRE in the building.

The 109,000 sq ft BREEAM 'excellent' building was developed speculatively by ECf and completed in 2011. More than 42,000 sq ft has now been let in the building.

English Cities Fund is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes & Communities Agency.

GVA and CBRE are joint agents for the scheme. GVA acted for ECf. DTZ acted for Mercer.

Phil Mayall, development director at ECf, said: "We look forward to continued success throughout 2014 as more and more businesses see the benefit of being situated in a highly sustainable building in the centre of the city's thriving commercial business district."
