Mason Owen advises Greggs on expansion

Surveyors Mason Owen have secured 12 properties across the North West and Midlands as part of a shop acquisition programme for Greggs.

The move is part of Greggs' plans to acquire 90 shops across the UK in 2010. So far Mason Owen, Greggs' property advisors in the region for 40 years, have acquired shops in Mold, Southport, Glossop, Llandudno, Manchester University, St Annes and Altrincham, with terms agreed on others in Kensington, Rhyl, Prestwich and Manchester city centre.

Mason Owen's retail team is also currently in negotiation on a further 10 properties, which will help Greggs reach their 2010 expansion plan successfully and on time.

Greggs is the country's largest retail baker and serves more than one million customers a day in 1,400 shops.

The North West and Midlands region is served by a bakery in Manchester.
