Lovell takes on eight apprentices in Miles Platting

Eight construction apprentices have joined the Renaissance Consortium's training scheme in East Manchester.

The new recruits, all from the local area, join the workforce on the major housing refurbishment and redevelopment programme under way in Miles Platting, set to revamp 1,500 homes and build 1,000 more.

The consortium consists of Morgan Sindall subsidiary Lovell, Adactus Housing Association and Investors in the Community.

Each trainee was given a two-year contract with Lovell and will work towards NVQ qualifications in either a building trade, such as plastering or joinery or learn a variety of trades as a multi-skilled apprentice.
