Longridge housing with Aldi approved
Preston City Council has granted full planning permission for 113 homes and a 18,700 sq ft Aldi food store in Longridge.
HOW Planning originally secured outline permission for up to 220 homes including residential apartments with care access and an area of commercial office floorspace, at the site on Whittingham Road.
The Manchester-based consultancy has now secured detailed planning consent, on behalf of Prospect GB, for the first phase of 113 homes and the Aldi food store.
Alexandra Eatough, senior planner at HOW Planning, said: “Securing planning approval is a fantastic result, paving the way for a partially brownfield site to be redeveloped into a high quality retail scheme. The significant investment by Aldi will not only enhance the visual appearance of the area and support the new residential development, but it will also create local jobs and further enhance consumer choice within Longridge”.

Comes under Preston and might be more jobs but all the extra people will use our facilities

I live on whittingham road we dont need any more bloody houses!! We live down here to be out of the busy longridge area and nice with feilds and countryside we are sick of the building being done and how busy are once, nice quiet road is !!! Stop the idiots letting this happen!!! So angry

No mention of any more schools doctors or dentists with all this extra housing appearing in and around Longridge….. But it’s ok the government’s making money and that’s all that matters isn’t it??

I fully welcome the Aldi store with open arms, as longridge really needs to cater for the working class. More Worried about the houses being built as its hard enough to get a doctor’s appointment & the school run traffic is bad enough already.
