Mill Lane Trade Park off Liverpool’s Edge Lane has been opened by developer Derwent following completion of work by Caddick Construction.
The park was built to rehouse tenants moving from Binns Road Industrial Estate, which has been closed as part of the £100m redevelopment of Edge Lane Retail Park, now branded as Liverpool Shopping Park.
The 32,000 sq ft Mill Lane estate comprises 17 units and opened with a tenant line-up including Screwfix, Elegant Bedrooms, Wavertree Electrical and the Discount Window Centre. A total of 7,000 sq ft remains available across five units.
Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction, said: “It’s a very exciting time for this part of Liverpool with projects like this trade park transforming the local area.
“The provision of Mill Lane Trade Park means that local businesses affected by ongoing work at Liverpool Shopping Park are now able to take advantage of brand new, larger facilities, but can still stay in the local area to service their hard-earned customer base and enjoy the benefits of the Edge Lane regeneration.”
Derwent group chief executive David Lyons said: “From the outset we were keen to make sure that Binns Road businesses, many of which have been established in Liverpool for many years, could stay local. Mill Lane Trade Park allows us to fulfil our promise to those businesses.”
