Linco invests in extra storage

Carrington-based Calypso sun lotion manufacturer Linco Care, has completed a new £1m 25,000 sq ft warehouse at its site, built by C21 Construction.

The family run firm employs 50 people and is expanding into overseas markets, particularly South America, Australia and the Far East.

Ken Beck, senior accounts manager at Linco Care, commented: "Thanks to the hard work of the owners and staff, Linco Care is going from strength to strength. Our turnover has increased by 50% from 2003, our exports to over 50 countries worldwide now account for £2m of turnover, we have several well-known brands including Calypso and Re-Gen Oil that are listed in most of the major British retailers, and we've been able to employ another 34 people from the local area."

Ten years ago, the company stayed afloat despite losing £1.5m of stock in a fire.
Beck added: "The new warehouse is a symbol of Linco Care's success and growth over the last ten years and with our brands, people and new warehouse now in place, we're looking forward to a bumper next ten years from our base in Carrington."

The warehouse has storage capacity for 2,800 pallets and is fitted with 400 Solar photovoltaic panels that could generate 86,000 kWh electricity each year.
