Legacie Developments and Impel announce tie-up

Liverpool developer Legacie Developments has announced a partnership with Impel which will see the contractor taken in-house and rebranded as Legacie Contracts.

The 50:50 tie-up between the two firms will see Impel work exclusively on Legacie’s projects across Liverpool, including Reliance House and the 74-home, eight-storey mixed use scheme on Ropemaker Place.

The Ropemaker Place scheme, which will include 9,700 sq ft of commerical space, is expected to complete in February next year.

Legacie also announced in April that work would start imminently on site at the 127-apartment Azure Residence, a £20m scheme at Rose Place in North Liverpool. Falconer Chester Hall is the architect.

The enlarged company will have a combined workforce of 200 to 300 employees working on projects across Liverpool.

A spokesperson for Legacie Developments said: “We’ve worked with Impel Contracts for many years and it felt only natural that we merge our skill sets to provide one expert development and construction provider.

“We see having our own Legacie Contracts company in house will be a vital factor in ensuring our continued commitment to our clients and investors in respect of successful delivery of high quality projects.”

Bringing in a construction company with £100 net assets is hardly enlarging the group.
