KF bags retail specialist MVG

Knight Frank has acquired Markham Vaughan Gillingham, the niche retail agency whose regional instructions include David McLean/Nikal's Altair in Altrincham and Allied London's Spinningfields, Manchester, for an undisclosed sum.

Andrea George, associate, covers the North West patch from Manchester for MVG and will now be based from Knight Frank's 55 King Street office.

MVG employs 12 people nationally from offices in London and Bristol, as well as George in Manchester. The firm advises on 9.5m sq ft of shopping centres.

Ian Barbour, director of MGV, becomes head of retail at KF's headquarters in 55 Baker Street, London. Barbour said: "The time has come for us to expand and be part of a broader business which incorporates those services offered by a large consultancy, such as investment, asset management and research across all real estate sectors."
