JLT division aimed at gap in corporate manslaughter cover

Manchester-based insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson has launched a dedicated construction risks division aimed at the regional contractor market.

The division will focus on topical insurance issues specific to the construction industry, for example the implications of the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act, which came into force in April.

Carl Hornby, regional sales director at JLT, said: "Our research showed that too many construction companies were receiving standard insurance cover and advice without any recognition of specific criteria affecting their industry or analysis of individual business's risk exposure."
