HOW Planning helps Taylor Wimpey win green belt approval

HOW Planning has helped housebuilder Taylor Wimpey to secure consent for additional units on a green belt residential development in Wigan.

The Manchester-based consultancy is also representing Taylor Wimpey on a reserved matters application for a 475-home residential development in Bickershaw South, Leigh, which is currently being considered.

Richard Barton, associate at HOW Planning, said: "Taylor Wimpey aims to deliver schemes which have a strong regional identity and which meet local housing needs and we are confident that both schemes will prove to be similarly successful developments."

The residential development in Shevington, Wigan, incorporates green belt land.

An application has now been approved to increase the number of units on the site and to change the type of housing on offer, better meeting the needs of local housing demand.

A decision on the Bickershaw South scheme, which comprises a combination of family homes, a marina, new pub/restaurant and an additional retail unit, is expected shortly.
