Housing proposed for former Macclesfield TA site

Brackenhouse Properties has submitted a full planning application for a 9-acre housing development in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

The developer plans to build 87 new homes on the land previously occupied by the Territorial Army. The former TA centre has now been demolished to make way for redevelopment, having been empty for a while.

Jon Suckley, principal planner at Manchester-based HOW Planning, which advised Brackenhouse Properties, said: "Our client's vision is to create a high quality housing development which will attract new residents to the area. The site has been vacant for some time and these plans will regenerate what is currently a vacant parcel of land into an attractive and sensitively landscaped new community."

The application also includes plans for a new traffic controlled junction off Chester Road into the proposed development along with new public access routes.
