Hill Dickinson Developers’ Conference
Join Hill Dickinson for the 2015 Developers’ Conference on Thursday 16 July in the unique surroundings of Chester Zoo.
This annual Hill Dickinson event will cover the current key issues in property, construction and property litigation. Also joining the line-up this year is Richard Mawdsley of the Peel Group.
The event will include a BBQ and a memorable networking evening, together with a guided zoo safari around the Zoo’s new Islands exhibition; a fantastic opportunity to explore the amazing tropical environments of six South East Asian islands on your own unique wildlife expedition.

13:00 Welcome
Game, set and match – Bill Chandler, Hill Dickinson
Sandwiched between Wimbledon fortnight and GB’s Davis Cup quarter-final, we will be serving up highlights from the indoor courts. Our grand slam of recent planning-related development cases features a volley of conditional contracts, some backhand attempts to avoid liability under section 106 agreements/Community Infrastructure Levy and we smash the planning implications of a development site being listed as an Asset of Community Value
CDM 2015 Regulations and ISG V Seevic – David Oram, Hill Dickinson
Construction law update – a summary of some of the recent changes to construction law that are relevant to construction developments. David will take you through the implications of the CDM Regulations 2015, followed by an assessment of the effect of ISG V Seevic on payment processes.

The issues that can arise when mines and minerals are owned by someone other than the surface owner

Flexible uncertainty – Coventry v Lawrence – Ralph Bullivant, Hill Dickinson
The Supreme Court Decision in the case of Coventry v Lawrence has been described as a green light for developers. We will set out the facts behind the case and examine the implications in relation to the law of nuisance and the potential remedies that a developer may be liable for particularly in relation to rights of light.
Development: Peel and the Liverpool City Region – Richard Mawdsley of Peel Group
Richard will provide an overview of the Peel Group and their projects in the area, including the Wirral Waters project and how the local and wider communities of the Wirral area will prosper with the transformation of over 500 acres of Birkenhead docklands into an internationally recognisable destination.
