Healthy start for St Modwen’s Blackburn innovation centre

St Modwen has secured eight new tenants for its recently opened innovation centre at Evolution Park, Blackburn.

The 44,000 sq ft Innovation Centre, next to Royal Blackburn Hospital, forms part of the first phase of development at St Modwen's £25m, 223,000 sq ft Evolution Park.

The innovation centre is aimed at start-up and growing enterprises in and around Blackburn and comprises a range of fully-fitted office suites that range from 90 sq ft up to 2,000 sq ft.

Dawn Rogers, centre manager, said: "The innovation centre package has been designed to make life easy for company owners. When growing your business or starting out, there is no time to think about hiring secretarial support, ordering furniture or setting up your own IT systems and the innovation centre removes all that pressure.

"In addition to the strong take up of space, we are also experiencing a lot of success in the hiring of meeting and conference rooms which are available to hire for any organisation in and around the area and not just for those occupying the Innovation Centre. We recently hosted an event for 80 people on behalf of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation who have since booked for another 100 to 150 people."
