Hat Box resi on site at Milliners Wharf

Scarborough has started construction on the second phase of Milliners Wharf in New Islington, which will provide 144 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across two blocks.

The Hat Box has a development value of £30m, and is being developed by FairBriar International, a joint venture between Scarborough Group, Hong Kong-developer Top Spring International Holdings and Singapore-listed property development and investment group Metro Holdings.

GMI Construction is the contractor. Completion of the first apartments is anticipated to be early in 2016 when the first residents will take up occupancy of their new homes.

The Hat Box will include a sky garden, secure parking and bicycle stores.

FairBriar International is also developing Middlewood Locks, a 2,000 home development with mixed uses located at the western gateway to Manchester city centre and centred around the former Manchester Bolton & Bury Canal.

The two developments are being delivered through Scarborough's Manchester office.

Zerum Consult advised on planning.
