Groundwork wins climate change schools contract

Environmental charity Groundwork Pennine Lancashire has won a £140,000 contract to deliver climate change workshops in schools across Lancashire.

Lancashire County Council awarded the two-year contract, with a possibility of a further two-year extension, to the Blackburn-based charity following a public tender process. Groundwork will provide 180 half-day workshops a year in primary and secondary schools and is likely to subcontract the work.

There are seven Groundwork trusts across the North West. Their work includes helping businesses save energy and costs through environmental measures.
